The dry hot summer has presented sheep producers with a great opportunity to get an excellent results from summer drenching. Local flock testing has showed that reasonably heavy worm burdens were being carried by sheep into January & February. This is quite explicable given that sheep have had to graze down harder and lower than usual this summer.
Now is the time to start testing in preparation for the pre-lamb drench. Along with your summer treatment, this is your most important drench you can administer. Potentially coming in ‘clean’ could mean no treatment is required, or a capsule application could help keep those pastures clean for another 100 days.
Whatever the decision, unless you have worm testing results at hand, no informed decision can be made. Talk with your local FPAG store now about your worm management program!
